Hello Fellow Quilters,
As I start my year as your president, I want to thank all who have said YES to me when I asked for your help. My theme this year will be “Seaming together friendships one stitch at a time”. I challenge each of you to meet new quilters this year and make an effort to welcome new members and guests at our meetings, classes or retreats.
Let me thank both Kay Bowen and Kay Fisher for a wonderful salad supper. Everyone bought great food and the evening was a fun time for all.
Looking forward to our June Retreat on June 16th which I know will be another good time. At this time it is full but a waiting list has been started. We also have two sewing days this summer on Saturday, July 22 with the Lexington Sew N Tell group hosting and the second sewing day will be August 19th. At this time no one has stepped forward to host this day. If you or a group of friends would like to host, please give me a call at 630-254-1036. Your main responsibilities are overseeing set up, collecting $5 from each person and seeing that the area is cleaned up and all items returned to storage.
On June 8th at 6:00 pm there will be a transition board meeting at the church. If you have served on a committee this past year or are serving this year, please attend this meeting. It is important as this is part of our budgeting process. If your committee is not represented, it will be necessary for you to contact Bev Elder or me to get your budgeting information. Those who served this past year need to be present to help the new committee chairs with their budgets. We will be taking pictures of all committee chairs to place on the website.
I am still in need of chairmen for the Winter Retreat and for Quilt Spectrum 2018. I know all those who did this year’s quilt show will be willing to help a new chair. Please call me if you have any questions or are willing to fill either position.
Please feel free to contact me if you have a concern, an idea or anything you feel I should be aware of. You may call my cell (630-254-1036) any time between 9 am and 10 pm.
I hope everyone enjoys their summer and happy quilting to all!!
