The June sewing retreat is only a couple months away! We are looking forward to two days of sewing, visiting and sharing time with friends.
The ladies from Sewing Studio are going to have a shopping area set up for us both days for our shopping pleasure-take a break from your stitching and look through the items available-who knows, you might find a brand new project to start on during the weekend!
If you think you would like to bring your sewing machine (or machines) in for servicing during the weekend please let me know by May 5th. If there is enough interest we will arrange to have a repbair man there to take care of your machines.
Brian Lapping will be available both days-be sure to plan to make time for a massage to take care of those shoulders. There will be sign up sheets at the check in table each day for you to schedule your time.
We will be serving lunch and dinner on Friday, lunch only on Saturday. If you have special food needs please contact me ahead of time so we can go over our planned menus.
Those who have attended our retreats in the past are familiar with the policy about personal irons at the retreats, but for first timers (and a reminder for experienced retreat goers) please do not bring a personal iron. We have several ironing stations that will be set up in all the rooms. With a full house we do not want to over-tax the electrical system at the church during our two days of sewing, so please leave the small travel irons at home.
We also ask that you not bring side sewing tables. We have 53 people signed up to attend the event. We do have table space that will allow everyone half of a table for their work space. Sewing machine extension tables are fine, but we will not have the space available for extra side tables. We appreciate your understanding on this! However, if you do have your own special sewing chair please do bring that along-we want everyone to be comfortable!
We plan to unlock the doors for Friday check at 8:30 am. Please do not plan to arrive before that time. The retreat committee will be busy with final set up until that time. Saturday check in will be at 9:00 am. We will have someone at the front door both days to help get your stuff unloaded and in to the church so you can move your vehicle to make room for the next person. Those of you who have attended these retreats in the past know how hectic check in time can be, we appreciate your patience while we get everyone's things in to the church.
For anyone who has been thinking about purchasing the Electric Quilt software I plan to have my laptop with me at the church both days. I have been using this awesome quilt design software since it was created and will be happy to show you how the program works. I don't have any planned demo so just let me know if you are interested in seeing the software, we will arrange a time to play with it.
We are looking forward to a fun weekend of our favorite activity-sewing with friends! If you have any questions about the weekend please let me know. See you all in June!
