Wow, so many books have been checked out from our HAAQG Library! Thank you. I’m so glad the Library books are being used. With more shelf space on the cart, finding the book you want (need) to borrow is easier.
Again, we will have the Fons & Porter magazine subscription form available. You can renew your subscription or start a new one for $15 annually.
We continue to sell discarded books from the HAAQG library and a few books already donated for $1 each at the November meeting. Please look through your personal quilt book library and consider books you could donate at the November 2017 meeting. Storage space is a problem for donated books. We only have the library cart for storage. If you have books or magazines to donate, please contact Mary Weakman or Connie J Carstens.
Looking forward to helping you find a good book to snuggle up with when you want to take a break from sewing!! Traditional Block Patterns - Bag and Quilt Projects Using 66 Traditional Patchwork Blocks by Yoko Saito is another book I was surprised by. Mary Weakman wanted this for our library and after reading, I totally agreed. Yoko Saito is an admired and honored Japanese designer, quilter, author, and teacher. Filled with Ms Saito’s remarkable sense of color and layout, this lovely book includes 23 projects made in her beautiful Japanese taupes. She included her favorite blocks, revamped to form new designs. The 66 traditional patchwork blocks are organized into 11 different themes.
