Block of the Month

With Block of the Month a new block is created each month using a pattern that has been selected by the Block of the Month Committee.  The blocks are sewn together to complete the quilt and then displayed at the end of the Guild year.

Community Projects

Community Projects acts as a liaison between the Guild and the Community. Through their generosity our Guild members have donated countless handmade items to support organizations and charity projects throughout the community. Community projects are the Guild’s way of giving back to the community through the art of quilting.

Mentor Program

The Mentor Program gives members the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques while creating a quilted project of their own. Many of the projects use basic quilting techniques, making the Program especially suitable for new quilters. There is a small materials fee for each class.

Programs and Workshops

Our Guild is proud to offer programs by nationally known speakers throughout the Guild year. Speakers share quilts from their collections and tell the stories behind the creation of their quilts. Workshops are held on the Friday and Saturday following the meeting. The workshops give members the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques taught by nationally known speakers. We encourage quilters of all levels to participate in these workshops.

Raffle Quilt

Every year the Raffle Quilt Committee creates a quilt which is raffled off at the Quilt Spectrum in April. The Raffle Quilt is the Guild’s biggest fundraiser and members help by selling raffle tickets throughout the year. If members are uncomfortable selling raffle tickets they may make a donation instead. The member who sells the winning raffle ticket also wins a special prize created by the Committee.

Trips

The Guild periodically offers day and overnight trips to its members.

Challenge Quilts

Challenge quilts give members the opportunity to share their ingenuity and creativity by completing a quilt project following rules determined by the Challenge organizers. Members vote on the quilts, which are displayed at the Guild’s annual Quilt Spectrum.

Library

The Guild’s library is available to all members. The library offers a large collection of books on quilt design and techniques suitable for beginning and experienced quilters. There is a $5 fee for checking out items, which is refunded when items are returned.

Mystery Quilt

Mystery Quilts take you on a quilting adventure and are a great way to use up all those scraps you have collected over the years. We provide fabric requirements and cutting instructions in the first month. Each month, you'll receive additional construction steps. We provide the final construction steps in the last month, revealing the completed mystery quilt.

Small Groups

Many of our Guild members belong to one or more of several small quilting groups that meet throughout the year. These groups are open to members and meet at a specified time and location each month. If you are interested in attending a small group please contact the small group directly. Small groups meetings and contacts are included on the HAAQG calendar.

Ways and Means

Ways and Means is another fundraising activity offered to Guild members.  The Ways and Means Committee sells quilting-related items to members that may not readily be available elsewhere. Profits from the items sold support Guild activities.
