Sharon Davison of Maquoketa, Iowa, owner of “Dancing with Threads - Art of Quilting.” Since 2017 she has received several awards and has had the privilege to display them at the Ohnward Performance Arts Center and the Osterhouse Gallery of Arts both in Maquoketa, Iowa. Also, she has had “Thread Painting” art displayed at the Figge Art Center, Davenport, Iowa.
She encourages attendees to come to the “Intro to Thread Painting” classes to become comfortable with “blending free-motion stitching” which at first may be out of their comfort zone. “The Blending free-motion stitching” is thread painting on fabric. It is a fun way to use blending threads to embellish your wall hanging quilt. This kind of thread embellishment takes your art quilt to another dimension (realism in 3D) Every project is the creators – making it one of a kind. |
